Black Silicon Carbide

Black Silicon Carbide

Extremely hard, sharp SiC grains for abrasives, refractories and metallurgy.

Black Silicon Carbide is produced from silicon quartz sand and petroleum coke electrofused at high temperature in an electrical resistance furnace. Grains are hexagonal crystals — extremely hard, sharp and friable — with outstanding electrical/thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion.
