High toughness fused alumina for bonded & coated abrasives and refractories.
Brown Fused Aluminum Oxide (BFA) is produced by the fusion of high-quality bauxite in an electric arc furnace at high temperatures. BFA offers high hardness, toughness, self-sharpening, heat resistance and chemical stability. It is widely used for bonded abrasives, coated abrasives, vitrified/resin grinding tools, blasting and refractories.
Send InquiryWe supply standard BFA as well as heat-treated and coated grades for higher performance.
Heating to about 1050°C greatly improves purity, toughness, strength and wear-resistance.
Vitrified grinding wheels
Firing at about 1350°C turns grain color dark blue and delivers greater toughness and strength, much lower iron content, very low thermal expansion and excellent hydrophilicity — improving grinding performance and accuracy.
Coated abrasives (paper, cloth and belts) and heavy-duty grinding wheels
Ceramic coating improves purity and hydrophilicity, reduces dust, and achieves grain surfaces with greater toughness, strength, roughness and more uniform particle size.
Coated and bonded abrasives
Combines the advantages of ceramic-coated and blue-fired BFA for demanding grinding jobs.
Coated and bonded abrasives, especially for hardened steel and high-carbide materials
Bonded and coated abrasives, blasting, surface preparation and flooring.
